Chair Position

Role & Responsibilities

  • Attend, prepare for, and actively participate in all Caucus meetings.
  • Actively participate in Caucus activities including strategic planning, legislation, and other opportunities as they arise.
  • Work closely with NMA staff in preparation for Caucus meetings and events.
  • Serve as an advocate for NMA membership and Nebraska physicians.
  • Respect, uphold, and support collective Caucus decisions.
  • Serve as a liaison between the membership and the Caucus.
  • Maintain confidentiality of the Caucus’s deliberations.
  • Familiarize themselves with the duties which will fall on them as Chair.
  • Perform other duties as delegated by the Caucus.
Term
  • Must be a member of the NMA for at least two (2) years prior to election.
  • Elected individuals may serve up to three (3) years beginning when the individual was elected. Terms will staggered so individuals may be asked to serve a shorter initial term.
  • Elected individuals may serve up to two (2) consecutive terms.
  • Any duration spent as an appointment to fill a vacancy prior to election by the membership shall not count towards a elected individual's term.

    Vice Chair Position

    Role & Responsibilities

    • Attend, prepare for, and actively participate in all Caucus meetings.
    • Assume the role of Chair in the event the Chair is unable to attend a meeting.
    • Actively participate in Caucus activities including strategic planning, legislation, and other opportunities as they arise.
    • Work closely with NMA staff in preparation for Caucus meetings and events.
    • Serve as an advocate for NMA membership and Nebraska physicians.
    • Respect, uphold, and support collective Caucus decisions.
    • Serve as a liaison between the membership and the Caucus.
    • Maintain confidentiality of the Caucus’s deliberations.
    • Assume the role of Chair in the event the Chair is unable to complete their term and continue as Chair through the term to which previously elected.

    Term

    • Must be a member of the NMA for at least two (2) years prior to election.
